22nd FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship

Saga, Japan

28th October - 7th November 2016

In late October, the Australian Balloon Team will be heading to Saga, Japan to compete in the 22nd FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship. They will be competing against 102 of the World’s best pilots from 31 countries.

The competition will consist of morning and afternoon flights over 7 days (Monday 31 Oct - Sunday 6 Nov). The team will arrive about 5 days earlier to get their gear organised and get a number of practice flights in before the competition begins.

Matthew Scaife will also be competing in the final round of the 2016 Hot Air Balloon Honda Grand Prix, which will be also run in Saga from Friday 28th Oct to Sunday 30th Oct).
